BODY & MIND explores my experience learning first-hand about the intimate connection between the physical body and the spiritual mind, particularly in regards to how my physical illness triggered an episode of my major depressive disorder. In these photographs, I returned to the subversive technique of bunting, though in a slightly different form, and utilized the highly intimate space of my bed to highlight the intimate nature of the texts. The bed also functions symbolically in regards to how much time I spend bed-ridden due to these illnesses; I took each photograph on different mornings after waking up for the day. The words and phrases I chose are snippets pulled from my journal entries during the height of my physical illness and the onset of the depressive episode.
